Sabeet, which is part of LactoBeet, was shown in a recently published study to support arterial stiffness in postmenopausal women.1 In the randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, and parallel-design trial, 20 participants (ages 60-85 years) were given either a beet root extract that was nitrate-rich (8.8 mmol/day) or nitrate depleted with measurements taken at four, eight, and 12 weeks. Ultimately, the study demonstrated that “twelve weeks of nitrate-rich beetroot extract supplementation improved carotid artery stiffness and increased NO bioavailability without altering blood pressure.”
