TamaFlex has been registered as a Health Functional Food Ingredient (HFFI) by South Korea’s Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS).
NXT USA, in collaboration with the South Korean firm KolmarBNH, have announced that TamaFlex has been registered as a Health Functional Food Ingredient (HFFI) by South Korea’s Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS).
"We are thrilled to have TamaFlex registered as an HFFI ingredient in Korea. This approval places TamaFlex in an elite category of natural ingredients that are validated for their specific health benefits, enabling consumers to trust in its proven efficacy,” said David Woo, NXT USA’s Korea direct of sales, in a press release. “The MFDS has stringent requirements for claims validation, and our three double-blind, placebo-controlled, peer-reviewed, and published clinical studies provide robust support for our claims."
The proprietary blend of tamarind seed and turmeric rhizome extract has been shown in three studies involving over 300 people to support joint health, particularly in the knees, at a dose of 250 mg per day. This is the first HFFI registration for NXT USA but the firm anticipates additional registrations to further expand its presence in Korea, said Woo. The company’s other ingredient, Digexin, supports digestive health.
KolmarBNH, a leading original design manufacturer (ODM) in South Korea, will be driving the development of TamaFlex in the country.
