Nexus Laboratori (Catania, Italy) has announced an exclusive distribution agreement with Swisseutic (Lugano, Switzerland) for a new line of botanical extracts called Amunì. The line is made up of Sicilian raw materials such as citrus fruits, Pantelleria capers, Etna prickly pears, and pomegranate. According to Nexus, Sicilian citrus is known for its high vitamin C and antioxidant content to support healthy inflammation and immune health. Prickly bear is also high in antioxidants while also having hydrating properties to support sports nutrition. Pomegranate, rich in polyphenols, is an ideal solution for cardiovascular support.
“For over twenty years, I have developed products using the best ingredients available globally, focusing on innovative combinations and galenic forms to offer something new and unique to the market,” said Maria Calcara, CEO of Nexus, in a press release. “I soon realized that to achieve true innovation, it was necessary to create our ingredients from scratch. Amunì represents this vision, remaining deeply rooted in my land, Sicily.”
“We are excited to collaborate with Nexus, launch this new product line, and introduce it to the global nutrition market. The demand for innovative products in our sector remains exceptionally high, and with Amunì, we aim to offer unique nutritional ingredients, leveraging the culinary excellence of a region renowned for its Mediterranean diet and rich traditions,” said Christian Artaria, CEO of Swisseutic, in a press release. “The Amunì line aligns perfectly with Swisseutic’s philosophy, focused on high-quality, fully traceable natural ingredients.”
“With Amunì, we aim to share the richness of our Sicilian tradition with the global supplement industry and introduce new ingredients to formulators, thereby enriching the available health and wellness offerings,” added Calcara. “Our partnership with Swisseutic brings invaluable experience to this project, providing a global vision and reach from the outset.”
