In a recent press release, Rousselot, a collagen and gelatin brand of Darling Ingredients, announced it will introduce the ingredient Nextida GC at Vitafoods Europe 2025, taking place May 20-22, in Barcelona, Spain. Rousselot will be at booth 3K119 for the event.
Launched in the US in 2024, Nextida GC is the first in Rousselot’s profile of collagen peptide compositions intended for glucose management and GLP-1.
“As consumer awareness of glucose management and GLP-1 increases, we are excited to present Nextida GC with new clinical data in Barcelona,” stated Florencia Moreno Torres, global business development manager health and nutrition at Rousselot, in the press release. “Nextida GC offers a unique approach in the nutraceutical space to help brands address the evolving metabolic health market, the natural way.”
As demonstrated in a study1 published in October 2024, in healthy individuals, Nextida GC is designed to influence the body’s GLP-1 response after meals to maintain balanced glucose levels. The small proof-of-concept portion of the study tested a 5 mg dose of Nextida GC in normoglycemic and prediabetic participants and found it was effective in regulating glucose after a meal in both groups.
Additionally, two presentations will be given at Vitafoods Europe in the New Ingredients Theatre (3G266) for more information on Nextida GC:
Rousselot will also showcase additional collagen peptides at the event, including Peptan for holistic health and Colartix for joint health.
