Healthy fats are an important part of many nutritional formulas, including formulations for healthy weight, sports performance, and cognition benefits. medium chain triglycerides (MCTs) provide a healthy source of fats for these formulations. However, MCTs are typically liquid, and for certain formulations a solid form of MCT is preferred. In this case, manufactured powdered MCTs are ideal for these types of formulations.

Dr. Alice D. Hirschel has 10 years of research in disease nutrient-interactions and 12 years product and commercial development experience in the food and nutrition industry. She graduated with a BS in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Georgia and a PhD in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Hirschel began formulating supplements as a Product Development Scientist at GNC. She transitioned to Commercial Development with Innophos Nutrition and now, Dr. Hirschel works in technical, commercial and business development, learning to execute sales and marketing strategies with ABITEC Corporation.

John Tillotson joined ABITEC Corporation in 2015, and he currently serves as the pharmaceutical technical Business Director for Canada, Latin America, and India for ABITEC Corporation. He is responsible for business development and product technical support in the US, Canada, Latin America, and India. He has extensive experience in the development of lipid-based drug delivery systems including self-emulsifying drug delivery systems, cannabinoid lipid-based drug delivery systems, co-processed lipid preconcentrates, and topical self-emulsifying formulations. He has extensive experience in the development of solid oral dosage forms, including the development of multiple direct-compression, drug delivery systems and formulations. He has developed multiple orally disintegrating excipient systems for both the nutraceutical and pharmaceutical industries, including a patented ODT excipient system. He has also developed excipient systems for the tableting of lipids. He has a B.S. in Pharmacy (Ferris State University, MI), and a PhD in industrial pharmacy (University of Cincinnati, OH).
