Julie’s research was focused on drug discovery in marine organisms. As part of her studies, she published several peer-reviewed articles. Her areas of focus as a formulator have been centered on plant-based nutrition and medicinal plants. Julie is also an avid backcountry skier and can assure you that all of her backcountry expeditions are fueled by plant-based nutrition.

Jose Antonio, PhD, FISSN, FNSCA, CSCS, is the CEO and co-founder of the International Society of Sports Nutrition and editor-in-chief of the prestigious Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition. Dr. Antonio is an Associate Professor of Exercise and Sports Science at Nova Southeastern University in South Florida. He is also an avid paddler. He earned his PhD and completed his post-doctoral degree at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Dr. Antonio is the author of numerous peer-reviewed scientific publications and has written more than a dozen books, including Essentials of Sports Nutrition and Supplements. He is a regular contributor to the International Society of Sports Nutrition’s blog and speaks both domestically and abroad about the science behind sports nutrition supplementation.
