In partnership with the State of Missouri, Soy Labs LLC (Fairfield, CA) broke ground on the Missouri Plant Science Center in Mexico. The center will serve as a biotechnology hub for companies such as Soy Labs to research novel manufacturing processes for soybeans and other plant-based materials for the nutraceuticals, functional foods, and plant biotechnology industries.
Partly funded by the Missouri Department of Economic Development, the center will be a shared-use facility. It includes office space, wet- and dry-research laboratories, and manufacturing equipment. Soy Labs is in charge of managing the 25,000-sq-ft facility. The company will also recruit other firms to participate in the project.
