The Life Sciences Research Office (LSRO) has established itself as a recognized leader for unbiased expert scientific evaluations and services. LSRO provides decision makers of leading private corporations and public institutions with the information they must have to make pivotal judgments. Our staff is supplemented by a dedicated team of experts and consultants selected from our network as well as the over 65,000 members of the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology (FASEB). FASEB represents 20 professional scientific societies. Its members are among the most respected and honored professionals in their field. More than 135 past and present FASEB members are Nobel Prize recipients; approximately 800 are members of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences or the Institute of Medicine. We have a rigorous, purposeful and complete process to produce widely accepted services such as comprehensive studies and authoritative reports. They range from important topics in biology, medicine, nutrition, and technological arenas. LSRO tailors its resources to accommodate the unique needs of each client and guarantees that top experts from virtually any scientific field will be assembled to review and analyze each client project. We deliver unsurpassed satisfaction in other services such as workshops, peer reviews, and GRAS reviews, as well as identification of key research needs to advance your knowledge and technology, analyses of bid/grant proposals that your organization may be presenting or that are being presented to your organization, and evaluations of early-stage products and technologies. Being a nonprofit organization, our primary goal is to benefit society. Additionally, we can serve our clients very competitively. We have passionately delivered on our goal by completing over 375 publications since 1962.

Some of the current released reports are:

  • Recommendations for Nutrient Content of Low Birth Weight Infant Formula
  • Assessing New Military Technologies for Combat
  • Health Effects of Dental Amalgams
  • Adverse Events Associated with Dietary Supplements
  • Review of Additives Used in Cigarette Production

  • Relationship Between Colorectal Cancer Risk and Calcium, Vitamin D, or Dairy Intake

Recently, LSRO founded the Center for Emerging Issues in Science (CEIS) to act as a think tank to identify landscape-shifting emerging issues in science and technology, and analyze the potential effects on science and industry. CEIS will assemble international experts in the emerging science areas and bring to bear LSRO’s considerable expertise in evaluating the state-of-the-science to help industry anticipate and adapt to changing trends. Our initial topic for CEIS will be Nutrigenomics. Nutrigenomics is the science of how bioactive chemicals in foods and supplements alter the molecular expression and/or structure of an individual’s genetic makeup. The excitement about Nutrigenomics comes from a growing awareness of the potential for modifications of food or diet to support health and reduce the risk of diet-related diseases.

We invite you to see how LSRO can be an indispensable part of the strategic future of your business.
