The Ultimine line of minerals is derived from the natural fermentation of Koji fungi, a process that yields highly bioavailable minerals.
AIDP Inc. (City of Industry, CA) has added the Ultimine brand of whole food derived minerals from Cura Global Health Inc. (Ames, IA) to its portfolio of ingredients. The Ultimine line of minerals is derived from the natural fermentation of Koji fungi (Aspergillus oryzae), a process that yields highly bioavailable minerals. According to AIDP, studies have shown that Ultimine iron had similar bioavailability to ferrous sulfate, and has even shown 2.8 times better absorption compared to the standard iron used in fortified food (ferric pyrophosphate), all without the negative GI effects associated with iron.
“AIDP is excited to be the exclusive supplier of the Ultimine line of minerals for the Americas,” said Mark Thurston, president of AIDP, in a press release. “We believe these unique, food-derived, bioavailable minerals, fermented from Koji fungi have a large market potential.”
